About Christian Science

Christian Science is based on Christ Jesus' teachings and practice of healing as taught in the Bible. The first Tenet in Christian Science is "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, page 497.

‍Mary Baker Eddy, Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, was a lifelong student of the Bible.  In 1866, she discovered that Christ Jesus taught his disciples a systematic method of healing with laws that can be applied and proved today.  She explained this revelation in her primary publication, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures.

‍The First Church of Christ, Scientist, the Mother Church, was established in Boston, Massachusetts in 1892 by Mrs. Eddy.
